The Full Story

I'm sure you’ll all agree "There’s nothing finer than a card landing on the door mat", Duncan Lindsay, the previous owner, would say. And boy, getting the right card can really pack a punch. So when the opportunity arose for Jayne to take the reins in 2002, she didn’t hesitate. Jayne didn’t need to learn the ropes as working for Duncan was her first Saturday job, and she picked up practically everything she needed to know from him. I’m sure being a sales associate at Streatham’s beloved Pratt’s has helped immeasurably too.

The ethos of the shop remains at the forefront every day. The door is opened, the shopboards are put outside and the blinds dropped. Ensuring each customer gets first-class service (maybe even the Village Card Shop song if you’re lucky), it remains an independent stocking of greetings cards from British designers and publishers and ensures quality and affordability for its customers whilst sprinkling some fun, happiness and handful of fairy dust along the way.
